straight to your inbox Liam Delap has been handed his senior Manchester City debut for tonight's Carabao Cup third round tie with Bournemouth.
City manager Pep Guardiola had said he will turn to the academy for the first game of the latest Carabao Cup defence, given the number of injuries in his senior squad and the quick turnaround between fixtures this week.
That has allowed Delap, 17, to make his first team debut after he was named on the bench for the first time last time out at Wolves.
Delap was called up to first team training over the summer after being prolific at youth level, before taking that form into the EFL Trophy win at League Two side Mansfield earlier this month.
