Manchester City have been named the most valuable football brand in the world worth a whopping £1.3bn. According to analysis by Brand Finance, the Blues' worth rose by 15 per cent this year matching what has been a phenomenal season on the pitch.
With the Premier League and FA Cup in the bag, City are aiming for a treble this weekend when they face Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
City conquered Real Madrid in the semi-finals and replaced them at the top of the rankings as their brand value dropped by three per cent to £1.26bn.
Discussing what these findings mean, head of sports services at Brand Finance Hugo Hensley explained: "Manchester City has achieved an extraordinary feat by surpassing Real Madrid to become the champion of football club brands. "For a decade now, the City team has exerted its dominance in English football, including securing four Premier League titles in the past five seasons.
