A man has appeared in court charged with the rape of a child and abduction following the disappearance of an 11-year-old girl in the Scottish Borders.
Andrew Miller, also known as Amy George, was charged with a number of offences at Selkirk Sheriff Court on Friday, February 17.
The 53-year-old was arrested by Police Scotland following a major search for a school girl.The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found at an address in the Galashiels area on the night of Monday, February 6, after she had been missing for 27 hours.
Miller was charged with abduction, rape of a child, sexual assault on a young child by penetration, sexual exposure to a young child, causing a young child to look at a sexual image, being in possession of an indecent photograph, behaving in a threatening or abusive manner and attempting to defeats the ends of justice.Miller was fully committed and remanded in custody.
