Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

The work of a 95-year-old Scots artist with Ayrshire roots will be immortalised on to a rare whisky bottle.Ayr-born Thomas McGoran was granted a poignant wish earlier this month when The Forge Shopping Centre agreed to display his bright colourful scenes in a pop-up charity exhibition.Self-taught artist Thomas, who moved to Glasgow in 1931 aged four, was desperate for others to see his paintings and previously said: “My only wish is for people to see my art before I die.”Thomas became an East Side sensation and has proved so popular that his exhibition run, which is raising money for children’s charity With Kids, has been extended by a week, now closing on March 5.Now Thomas, who only started painting in his retirement, will see one of his paintings immortalised on bottles of a rare single cask of Auchentoshan 33 Year-Old, being sold and bottled by Caskshare.Thomas said: “Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that the exhibition would be the success that it has become and to have been asked to put one of my paintings on a whisky bottle is really just the icing on the cake.”While not a big whisky drinker, Thomas has enjoyed a daily dram with soda water for the last few years saying it ‘makes him feel good’.Thomas’ colourful work is all based on growing up in Glasgow in the 1930s, bringing to life everyday scenes like doing laundry and getting groceries, as well as childhood treats like going to the cinema with his dad.The painting chosen for the special release of Auchentoshan is ‘Going to the Pictures’, which depicts a couple on their way to the cinema; an industry which played a big part in Thomas’ childhood, as he worked as a projectionist (spoolboy) in 1941, and in Glasgow culture.In the 1930s, Glasgow was known
