A second man has been charged in connection with the death of Neil Canney who was allegedly gunned down on his Greenock doorstep last week.
The 28-year-old man is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday (March 6). It comes after police charged a 22-year-old man on Friday.
He will also appear in court today.Neil was found seriously injured in Nairn Road around 1.15am on Tuesday, February 29. The 37-year-old was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a short time later.A Police Scotland Statement said: "A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Neil Canney in Greenock."The 37-year-old was found seriously injured in Nairn Road around 1.15am on Tuesday, 28 February 2023."He was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a short time later."The 29-year-old is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 March, 2023."A 22-year-old man has already been arrested, charged and is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court on Monday, 6 March, 2023."A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
