A man and a woman suffered 'major trauma-related injuries' in a crash on the M6 yesterday. The smash happened on the northbound stretch of the motorway at junction 23 near Golborne at around 12.30pm on Thursday (November 2).
It involved two HGVs and a car, motorway police said. Traffic officers fully closed off the northbound side for several hours and temporarily held traffic on the southbound side as the air ambulance landed on the scene.
Police, fire crews and paramedics also responded. They were both taken to hospital from the scene - one by road and one in the air ambulance. Both suffered 'major trauma-related injuries'.
