After the battle grabbed headlines consistently over the last year or so, Britney Spears’ father has agreed to step down as the conservator for her estate.
Jamie Spears has had control over the American singer’s personal and financial life through for 13 years due to the court-ordered arrangement which came into effect in 2008 due to Britney’s mental health struggles.
After a judge denied the pop stars’ impassioned plea petition to have her father removed in July, she filed a 127-page document arguing that an accountant should be instated in his place.
