Coachella also updated their website to state that COVID safety measures won’t be required at their festival. Organizers did note that the events will take place with local public health conditions in mind, which could change at any time.

Also on Coachella‘s website, the health and safety page cautions that “there is no guarantee, express or implied, that those attending the festival will not be exposed to COVID-19.” California’s rules for outdoor events – like music and food festivals – don’t require proof of being fully vaccinated or pre-entry negative COVID test results, though it is “strongly recommended.” Also according to the California Department of Public Health, unvaccinated attendees of outdoor events are only required to wear masks if they enter indoor area like restrooms, retail shops, and concession stands.
