Christopher Ciccone has passed away. It’s a sad, sad time for Madonna and her family, as her younger brother died at just 63 years old over the weekend, according to multiple outlets.
TMZ reported that the late interior decorator, who served as one of Madonna’s backup dancers and creative directors for years, died of cancer. Related: Late American Pickers Star Frank Fritz’s Cause Of Death Revealed In a tear-jerking statement obtained by Us Weekly, his family assured fans he died surrounded by loved ones in Michigan, including by his husband Ray Thacker, whom he wed in 2016: A rep added he went “peacefully.” Unfortunately, he and Madonna had a very public falling out in the late 2000s.
Christopher released a book in 2008 titled Life With My Sister Madonna, in which he made multiple allegations about the pop singer.
At the time, her rep Liz Rosenberg told the Associated Press the Hung Up singer had not read it, but found it “very upsetting” that he “decided to sell a book based on his sister.” Since then it’s been a bit of a roller coaster ride for the estranged pair, but they did seemingly make up in 2012.
