Nmecha, 22, left City to join Wolfsburg in a deal worth £11m. City have a 15 per cent sell-on clause on the German under-21 striker, as well as a buy-back option.
After a series of underwhelming loan spells, including at Wolfsburg, Nmecha found his feet last season under Vincent Kompany at Anderlecht, where he scored 21 goals in 41 appearances.
