Love Island star Jamie Jewitt has opened up about his personal battle with his weight after gaining five stone. The hunky model won fans' approval when he starred in the hit ITV reality show and swept co-star Camilla Thurlow off her feet after a string of heartbreaks in the Villa. The couple since got married and welcomed their baby daughter Nell and are now expecting their second child. But Jamie, 31, has found himself facing an unexpected parenting challenge after struggling to control his weight in recent years. He has now embarked on a fitness journey after becoming "concerned" about his parenting ability whilst carrying extra weight. He told The Sun: "Honestly my life changed most when I became a parent as I stopped putting myself and my health first."I've always exercised so I have to admit it was mainly diet that I began struggling with, being a parent for the first time quick and easy foods are what I got used to choosing."He said that aiming to "treat himself" after busy days meant he would simply eat what he liked - which created a habit of "ignoring self-care" and meant he "lost the discipline" he used to have around food.He added: "It's a slippery slope once the bad habits set in and a difficult cycle to break when you have so much else going on that you need to think about i.e an increasingly energetic little bambino!" Jamie - who stands at 6ft 2 tall - weighed just 12st 8lbs during his sting as a Bombshell on Love Island in 2017.

At his heaviest he found himself hitting the scales at 17st 1lb before managing to get down to 14st 5lbs.Jamie has now embarked on a fitness plan to help achieve his health goal as he battles to shed the excess weight.Speaking on Instagram, he explained: "This year I’ve never felt more.
