Viewers of Lorraine have been full of praise for Sarra Hoy, wife of Sir Chris Hoy, following her first solo TV interview where she discussed her husband's cancer diagnosis and her own health struggles.
Lady Sarra opened up to ITV's Lorraine Kelly about how her family is managing after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, shortly after Sir Chris was told he had terminal prostate cancer last year.
Discussing the challenges of raising their children while battling their own health issues, Sarra shared: "With kids you don't get a chance, there's no time to stop and have a day in bed, you just don't get that opportunity.
So yes, the children are everything for us and our family that surrounds us are everything," she said. "We have support from remarkable friends who identify and have the confidence to give us the help rather than waiting for us to say what we need because in that circumstance, you sometimes don't know." Sarra also confessed that receiving her multiple sclerosis diagnosis felt like the "final straw" following Chris' devastating cancer news, reports the Mirror. "It did almost feel a bit like the final straw but then equally so surreal, that it was some ways easier to deal with my diagnosis because I could just say well I have to just put that to the side right now," she said. "The only person I wanted to tell and get support from was him [Chris].
