Channel 4 earlier this week, titled The Gathering.Created by the team behind Line Of Duty, the series follows a group of teenagers from different backgrounds who all become suspects in an assault case after a girl is attacked at a Merseyside rave.The drama, which aired on Tuesday (May 14) stars Saltburn’s Sadie Soverall, newcomer Eva Morgan, Vinette Robinson of Sherlock and Boiling Point fame, and Richard Coyle, best known for playing Aberforth Dumbledore in 2022’s Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore.The six-episode series was executive produced by Line Of Duty’s Simon Heath, and was directed by Gareth Bryn, known for directing episodes of Last Tango In Halifax, Line Of Duty and Hidden, and The Windsors director Amanda Blue.The series has received critical acclaim upon its release, with The Guardian praising “some fine performances – especially from Morgan as Kelly, with her poignant blend of brashness and vulnerability, and Soverall, who never lets Jess descend into spoiled-little-rich-girl territory.”The Standard, which also praised the “killer performances” and called it a “deftly-told exploration of being a teen in the digital era” praised the series’ soundtrack.

George FitzGerald has released his new noughties house-inspired single ‘Gleams’ – listen to it below.The London electronic musician’s new song follows the release of his 2023 EP ‘Not As I’, and marks his first new track of 2024.‘Gleams’ was written last summer while travelling around Germany and France, during which FitzGerald was looking for inspiration in European music of the 2000s.“I was thinking back to the continental house records that I loved so much in the 00s, and the hours spent in record shops in Paris and Berlin discovering them,” he said in a press statement. “This is my take on those memories.”Listen to ‘Gleams’ below.In a post on X (formerly Twitter) this week, the musician wrote that the song was “an idea started on fast trains to Paris and Toulouse and finished in the studio in Berlin.

English trio London Grammar are back next month with their third studio LP, Californian Soil. They've already shared the title track, as well as "Baby It's You," and today they're delivering the third offering, a George FitzGerald-produced cut titled "Lose Your Head." The track arrives with an equally-shimmering video that has frontwoman Hannah Reid awash in a sea of iridescent fabric.
