Liverpool have been handed two further injury blows ahead of Sunday's crunch Premier League title showdown with Manchester City on Sunday after Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez were both withdrawn for Jurgen Klopp's side in Europe.

The Reds, in action against Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening, saw two of their first-choice defenders forced off in Czechia as the latest injury concerns in a season which has been plagued with setbacks.

Konate, who has been a consistent performer for Liverpool so far this term, appeared to suffer a hamstring issue when attempting to prevent Sparta from pulling a goal back during their encounter.

Gomez, a versatile defender who has been asked to play at both full-back and centre-back, was also taken off at half-time, as young Irishman Conor Bradley came on to replace the 26-year-old.
