It's not too often Manchester City fans can celebrate a United win, but perhaps Sunday was a rare exception. Before United's FA Cup quarter-final with Liverpool kicked off, there were two contrasting schools of thought among City fans.
Would a United win inflict a mental blow on Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp that could prove critical to the Premier League title race?
Or would City prefer Liverpool to win and have extra games in their legs, even if it meant meeting Klopp's side in the cup? In the end, City shouldn't be too disappointed with what happened on or off the pitch at Old Trafford.
Liverpool showed significant frailties in the face of an inspired United performance. The Merseysiders were wasteful when they led 2-1 and looked hugely vulnerable on the counter-attack.
