Despite going 2-1 ahead on aggregate thanks to Roberto Firmino's goal at the start of extra-time, Liverpool were undone by two long-range goals from Marcos Llorente to lose the tie 4-3.
While goalkeeper Adrian took the brunt of the blame for the European exit due to his glaring errors, Robertson was also culpable in the eyes of some fans for heading against the Atletico crossbar with the goal at his mercy.
