Labour’s Lisa Nandy today declared she is "very proud" of Black Lives Matter protesters taking to streets amid the coronavirus pandemic, adding: "You cannot be silent".

The Shadow Foreign Secretary urged protesters to maintain social distancing - and told the small number who have been violent to "stop it".

But she added: "I'm someone who has lived with racism in my life, I've seen it with my family, I've seen it in our country and I think it requires you to take an active stance against it.
