Line of Duty star Vicky McClure has opened up about the possibility that season six could be the final series. The latest run of the hit BBC crime drama currently has viewers hooked every Sunday night, but with only two episodes left to air it seems the future is uncertain.

Vicky, who plays DI Kate Fleming, is clearly gutted at the thought of Jed Mercurio not writing a seventh season. "You know nothing lasts forever," Vicky said. "It would be a massive shame when that day comes.

It will be a really sad time." She continued to the Daily Star: "It's the longest standing job that I've ever had. As cheesy and as corny as it sounds, there is nothing nicer than working with mates.
