mirror.co.ukLiar viewers were left deeply unimpressed by the second helping of season two, blasting its "unrealistic plot" and "laughable" characters - prompting them to switch off.
The series picks up from the end of last series which saw serial rapist Andrew Earlham mysteriously murdered. One of his victims, Laura (Joanne Froggatt), has been hounded by the police over his death.
In particular, by Katherine Kelly's gum-chewing DI Karen Renton, who is convinced that she is guilty and won't stop until Laura confesses.
Viewers don't know who killed Andrew either, but brief flashbacks give a glimpse as to what the rapist was doing in his final moments.
