After chatting to Good Morning Britain's Noel Phillips, the interview went viral, with viewers picking up on his several accents, despite being from Wolverhampton.

The singer, 28, spoke on an Instagram live on Monday night and explained to his fans why he spoke the way he did.He began by saying: "This was in Oscars week – the ever changing accent."I’m good at accents, I pride myself on them, I just wish sometimes I could do my own " he giggled.

Reflecting on the interview, the former One Direction star admitted that he can now see the funny side to it. He also explained that he asked the GMB presenter to not ask him too much because he'd "had a lot to drink" and is "under-ly educated about the Oscars."The Story of My Life singer said: "The very first question the man asked me was, 'What do you think about Will Smith?' Now can you imagine, imagine being put on the spot in that moment and knowing, 'I can’t say anything wrong because I’m gonna upset someone' and I just did the best I could."The 28-year-old revealed that he read back what he said in the interview and he stands by it, but also jokingly said: "I'm just sorry it came out in so many accents."He added: "I'm not even sure if it's an accent I can do."Liam went on to say that his accent changes when he’s around people from different areas and linked back to his X Factor audition where he notes that he doesn't sound like he's from Birmingham. He also declared that his accent also changes around his Doncaster-born former.
