A surprise appearance by a legendary actor left a theatre audience in awe as he took to the stage to perform an impromptu song.

Bill Murray, 74, known for his roles in Groundhog Day and Rushmore, is infamous for his spontaneous appearances at social events with little or no prior notice.He's been spotted serving tequila shots in bars, attending college house parties and now, performing Bob Dylan's Like a Rolling Stone on-stage at a small theatre in North Carolina, US.

Attendees at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte were taken aback when the Ghostbusters star graced the stage to perform one of the greatest songs of all time.His unexpected performance left fans both at the theatre and online in shock, with many hailing Murray as a "legend".

A clip posted on Twitter/X showed Murray halfway through his animated performance, backed by musicians already present at the venue.The crowd could be heard singing along with Murray, who appeared at the venue where rock band The Cold Stares were performing.
