European Super League announcement.The Reds were named as one of 12 ‘founding members’ to the proposed tournament, that would effectively replace the current UEFA competitions.Along with the reigning Premier League champions Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham plan to join Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan and Inter in the new tournament.The six English clubs have come in for intense criticism from all, with United legend Gary Neville suggesting they could face points deductions and be stripped of titles.Should the planned competition get the go ahead, it would mean the likes of Liverpool would be entitled to play in the continent’s top competition, regardless of domestic league.
