Laura Lewis’ Rebelle Media Inks First-Look Deal With MGM Television; Sets ‘The Sicilian Inheritance’ Adaptation As First Project

EXCLUSIVE: Rebelle Media, founded and run by former CAA film finance and sales agent Laura Lewis, is getting into business with MGM Television.

The company has signed a first-look deal with the studio and set its first project, a series adaptation of The Sicilian Inheritance, Jo Piazza‘s bestselling novel of the same name.

Described as “a gorgeous destination-based murder mystery, The Sicilian Inheritance is a delicious, escapist story featuring an ensemble cast and strong female characters fighting the forces that keep them down.” The project continues a relationship between Rebelle and Piazza which began with her bestselling book Charlotte Walsh Likes to Win, which is in development with wiip.  “We look forward to progressing this partnership between MGM Television and Rebelle Media with The Sicilian Inheritance,” said Lindsay Sloane, head of MGM Television. “This is exactly the kind of story MGM Television strives to create – filled with intrigue, drama, and complex characters – set against the stunning backdrop of Sicily.
