A Lanarkshire rapist who was snared after his victim secretly used her phone to record him confessing to his crimes has been jailed.

My main priority now is trying to sort everything out with you. If you don’t want sex, you don’t want sex.”On Tuesday, jurors returned guilty verdicts to two charges of rape.His lawyer, Patricia Baillie, asked judge Fiona Tait to continue Armstrong’s bail - the court had earlier heard the accused was a first offender.But judge Tait refused to grant the request and sent Armstrong to prison ahead of sentencing later this year.She told him: “Mr Armstrong - given the nature of the offences to which you have been convicted of, I will defer sentence to call for a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and risk assessment.“I have been asked to continue your bail.
