Lanarkshire MSP Neil Gray has welcomed an additional £2 million of Scottish Government funding for Rape Crisis Scotland and Scottish Women’s Aid.
The Airdrie and Shotts MSP said it will ensure that more sexual assault survivors and victims of domestic abuse can access the help they need, when they need it.
This is on top of the £19 million provided annually by the Scottish Government to support women through the Delivering Equally Safe fund.
It will go to the centres facing the most significant issues with waiting lists and will continue until the end of the next financial year. The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
