Lanarkshire drop-in event to help residents struggling with cost of living crisis

An East Kilbride-based charity is holding a community drop-in event next month to help support residents through the cost of living crisis.

The event is being organised by Agape Wellbeing Centre, based at 22 Cornwall Way in the town centre, and will be held on Thursday, October 6 from 11-3pm.It will see a number of organisations available for advice such as NHS Lanarkshire, the Citizens' Advice Bureau, Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire (VASLan).The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

"It may be you are concerned with the rising cost of energy, would benefit from financial advice or advice on something else."There will able be a cuppa and cake available on the day."Rising energy costs and skyrocketing inflation have lead to fears that many would be left in the cold this winter, unable to make ends meet - facing a stark choice of 'heating or eating'.New Prime Minister, Liz Truss, announced that a typical household energy bill will be capped at £2500 annually until 2024 with the continuation of the previously announced £400 energy bills discount for all households.Agape
