Lanarkshire council vow there will be no further school catchment changes after row

A Lanarkshire council have claimed there will be no further changes to catchment areas for schools in part of the region, after a row over recent alterations.

Elected members of South Lanarkshire Council's executive committee last month approved the decision to realign the catchment of Newton Farm and Hallside primary schools in Cambuslang, and to alter secondary schools that pupils in the rezoned area would attend from Uddingston Grammar School to Cathkin High School.

However the local authority has been criticised by Halfway Community Council, who have constantly campaigned for a new secondary school to be built in the area.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
