A Lanarkshire boxing club say they were sucker-punched after being hit with a sudden eviction notice from their gym. Durie's BC in Rutherglen were told to vacate their premises on Cambuslang Road by January 22 after a dispute with their landlord.Now the club, who run scores of community classes for youngsters in the area, have launched an online fundraiser in the hope it can keep them going while they move into new premises in Blairbeth.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

He says the problem has been long-running and that he told JBR Estate that he would refuse to pay rent in December unless the issue was fixed.The landlord has denied the problem is as serious as Mr Durie claims and as a result of the rent refusal, asked the club to leave the location that they have been based at for nearly 14 years.Correspondence from Ewan Buchan at JBR Estate also insists the club owe nearly £2000 in rent, a figure denied by Mr Durie.Mr Durie told Lanarkshire Live: "I'm still in shock about everything.
