A young mum who suffered a stroke while sitting at the table for Christmas dinner has been left wheelchair-bound.Casey Singleton thought she was about to fall off her seat at her family home and her vision blurred, but it was only after an appointment with a physiotherapist several days later that she realised she'd had a stroke and was told to go and see a doctor immediately. The 22-year-old thought her symptoms were the after-effects of a previous stroke she'd suffered days before her birthday on November 20, reports the Mirror.

That day Casey had felt tired and tried to go to bed but struggled to walk and had to crawl up the stairs, falling back every time took a step forward. Her partner Jack believed she was sound asleep on the sofa after taking their kids to bed but t he morning after, Jack he noticed Casey was "staring into space" and had no movement.

He called 999 and was on hold for 15 minutes before an ambulance quickly came and rushed her to hospital.Casey said: "I thought everything had only happened over the timeframe of an hour, but in reality it was from 11pm to 9am the next day.

In the morning, I thought I was talking normally and telling Jack to go to work."Once at hospital, Jack recalls his partner being "hooked up" to machines and not knowing what was going on.
