“The lady’s not for talking.” That was the conclusion of Sky News journalist David Blevins after he confronted LA Mayor Karen Bass over her handling of the wildfire disaster at an airport on Wednesday.
Bass was returning to both a literal and political firestorm after she stepped off a plane following a controversial trip to Ghana to attend the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama.
With a blaze raging in Pacific Palisades, Bass told Blevins, “No, I’m not going to do that,” when initially confronted by the journalist.
As Blevins continued to question the mayor, she stayed silent and stony-faced. “Have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today who are dealing with this disaster?” She did not respond.
