An additional 25 people have died from COVID-19 in Los Angeles County and there are 239 newly diagnosed cases as of Monday, marking the lowest daily increase reported over a 24-hour period since March 26.
The total number of coronavirus cases countywide now stands at 9,420 as the area remains under strict Safer at Home guidelines through May 15.
L.A. County Department of Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer announced the new numbers Monday during the county’s press briefing from Board of Supervisors headquarters.
She was quick to point out that she’s only “cautiously optimistic” about the low number of new cases due to limited lab results over the weekend and because Mondays typically deliver lower numbers for that reason.
