King Charles was left fuming over “thoroughly inappropriate” photos of the late Queen Elizabeth, according to a new book.Charles’ devotion and loyalty to the Queen was well known, as was his protective nature towards her.
And in new book 'My Mother and I', royal author Ingrid Seward highlights his anger when he believed his mum was being “taken advantage of”.As writes the Mirror, one event which was discussed in the book is Charles’ reaction to the Queen’s Paddington Bear sketch which was broadcast during her Platinum Party at the Palace in June 2022 and famously featured the much-loved fictional character in a hilarious specially filmed scene with the then monarch.Charles was reportedly a huge fan of the sketch, despite his usual disdain for those types of spectacles. The now much-loved two and a half minute comedy scene took half a day for the Queen to film at Windsor, and it was such a surprise to those even closest to her that even some of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were unaware it was happening."Charles never enjoyed his mother taking part in things he thought were undignified but even he had to admit it was a resounding success," Ingrid writes. But Ingrid reveals this was not the case when it came to photos taken for the Queen’s dresser Angela Kelly’s 2012 book entitled Dressing the Queen.
Ingrid goes on: “He was, however, irritated when Angela Kelly, the Queen's dresser and later private assistant, persuaded Her Majesty to allow herself to be photographed looking like a model, with her hands in her pockets, something apparently she had always wanted to do." One of the images went on to be used for the front cover of Angela’s book.
