It has been revealed that King Charles is ‘devastated’ to have to miss the Duke Of Westminster’s wedding, where his son Prince William is in attendance, as well as many other close friends and family.
Dubbed the ‘society wedding of the year’ Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, married Olivia Henson. However, even though the Duke is godfather to Prince George and Archie Sussex, as well as a close family friend with the rest of the Royal family, Hugh does not expect King Charles to attend his nuptials.
King Charles’ former butler, Grant Harrold, spoke about Charles’ expected absence to OK! exclusively on behalf of Slingo. “The Duke of Westminster's late father was Charles' best friend.
I witnessed the two families together when I worked with Charles and they are so close” said Grant. However, Charles’ ongoing battle with cancer has taken precedence over attending the wedding. “Charles has a special bond with the Duke of Westminster too but if he's been forced to miss the wedding due to a packed schedule and his ongoing treatment, that will be a bitter pill to swallow and he'll be devastated.” Grant praised Charles’ work ethic saying: “He'd commit to a full work schedule if he could and hates to let people down.” He believes, given their close bond, the Duke told Charles not to exert himself by coming to the wedding.
