The Royal Family's Christmas celebration is always a grand event - and it appears this year, King Charles will be hosting the largest gathering in years.
The previous 12 months have been a rollercoaster for the firm, marking the first time the royals have assembled en-masse after the King and the Princess of Wales were diagnosed with cancer within days of each other.Earlier this week, Prince William hinted at the scale of the festivities, telling party guests he will be celebrating the big day with around 45 relatives.
Last month, the King journeyed to Sandringham, where the royals traditionally celebrate Christmas, to check on preparations at his Norfolk home.A royal insider commented: "The King is embracing the Christmas period already and really getting into the spirit.
Staff who have seen him this week remarked how happy and healthy he was looking."However, two royals who are not expected at the grand celebration are the King's estranged son Prince Harry, wife Meghan Markle and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, according to the Mirror. It was disclosed earlier this month that they will not be returning to the UK for Christmas as they have not received an invite for this year's gathering at Sandringham, according to a source close to the couple.
