King Charles has not been in the company of his grandchildren Prince Archie and Prince Lilibet for over two years due to frosty relations with their parents Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a royal expert claims. As tension continues to mount, the severed ties between Prince Harry and the Royal Family appear to deepen with each passing day, the Mirror reports.Since relinquishing their roles as senior royals and moving to the US in early 2020, Harry and Meghan's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, which brought to light accusations of racism within the Firm, has significantly widened the gap.
Harry termed these instances as signs of "unconscious bias".Additional strain on relationships has resulted from subsequent disclosures in their Netflix documentary series and in Harry's memoir 'Spare', where he talks about disputes with his brother Prince William and the alleged failure of the family to support Meghan amid her mental health challenges.
Royal writer and commentator Tom Quinn notes that despite King Charles' fondness for spending quality time with the children of Prince William and Kate, he holds the belief that families should put disagreements behind them.
However, he claims that Charles fears that the grandchildren are being used as a pawn in the ongoing feud.Quinn said: "Charles believes Harry should let bygones be bygones for the sake of Archie and Lilibet, but he senses that access to the children is being used as a bargaining chip and that, in Charles' view, is unforgivable."Mr Quinn disclosed to the Mirror that in light of the situation, King Charles has entirely ceased communication with his son, Prince Harry.
