Kim Kardashian is meeting up with a very influential friend. The 41-year-old reality star grabbed lunch with philanthropist and author Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen at Nobu on Thursday afternoon (September 1) in Malibu, Calif. After lunch, Kim and Laura were seen hugging each other goodbye before continuing on with their days. Laura is the daughter of billionaire real-estate developer John Arrillaga, who helped build Silicon Valley.

She’s known for being a “philanthropy guru” as she runs Stanford’s Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society along with heading the philanthropic-innovation lab called the Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen Foundation. Laura is also the author of Giving 2.0: Transform Your Giving and Our World. Kim‘s outing comes around the same time her ex Kanye West very publicly called her mom Kris Jenner out on Instagram.
