Now, a new bun trend is taking off: the looped low bun (also known as a “flip” bun). Celebs like Kim Kardashian and Maura Higgins have worn the style over the past few weeks, prompting us at home to give it a go for ourselves.

However, the question is: is this new style a modern twist on a low bun, or does it just look a little bit like a ponytail that hasn’t been properly pulled through an elastic band?
