Kevin De Bruyne has returned to action for Manchester City ahead of schedule as he declared himself happy with his fitness. De Bruyne limped out of the Champions League final just under two months ago, later claiming he had played for two months with an injured hamstring.
He travelled with City on their pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, but didn't come off the bench as his fitness was managed in difficult conditions.
The Belgian finally got his first minutes of the summer at Wembley, coming on to change City's attacking fortunes against Arsenal in the Community Shield, setting up Cole Palmer to put the Blues ahead.
Leandro Trossard would equalise late on, though, sending the game to penalties where De Bruyne smacked his effort off the bar as Arsenal won the Shield.
