Katharine McPhee has a personal connection to one of the victims who tragically died in the plane collision that occurred in Washington, D.C.

this week. An American Airlines commercial flight collided with a U.S. Military helicopter upon its approach into the D.C. airport on Wednesday (January 29).

67 people died in the accident, including 60 airplane passengers, two pilots and two flight attendants on the plane, and three soldiers on the helicopter.

Several passengers were members of the U.S. Figure Skating Team, who were flying home from a skating camp in Wichita, Kansas. Katharine took to her Instagram Stories to honor one of the flight attendants, who she has flown with in the past.
