Kate Garraway was left trying to contain her emotions as she was given the chance to confront a government minister live on Good Morning Britain.

While she wasn't hosting the show today, Kate joined Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard as a newsreader on Thursday's show (September 14).

But Kate was left fighting back tears after she had opened up on her husband Derek Draper's recently ill health earlier in the programme.

On the penultimate episode of the programme this week, Susnna and Ben were joined via video link by Health Secretary Steve Barclay.
