Kate Garraway's 'guilt' as she takes time out but 'can't switch off'

Kate Garraway is leaning on her TV pals while she deals with looking after her husband Derek Draper, as stars such as Charlotte Hawkins, Ranvir Singh and Susanna Reid hope to give her a distraction.

While the Good Morning Britain presenter, 56, has been enjoying some time out with the girls, sources tell OK! that it's still tough for her as Derek is 'never off of her mind'. “Kate’s girly nights out definitely help her in some ways because they’re a distraction.

But what is happening at home never leaves her," explained the source. Derek, also 56, suffered severe complications from contracting coronavirus in March 2020 and spent months in the hospital battling for his life.

As he battled to stay alive, Kate's husband was placed into a coma and suffered brain inflammation, kidney failure, damage to his liver and pancreas.
