The former political lobbyist, 53, was rushed to to hospital with breathing difficulties on March 30 2020 after he was struck down by the deadly bug.
After coming down with symptoms, Kate was left frantic as his conditioned worsened and turned to her Good Morning Britain colleague Dr Hilary Jones for help after struggling to get through to emergency services.
