Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel says there is "a dangerous narrative" building around David de Gea as he slammed pundits' analysis of the goalkeeper.
De Gea was criticised for errors that helped both Olivier Giroud and Mason Mount score for Chelsea in last Sunday's FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.
Those slips followed on from some largely unconvincing form in recent weeks, and indeed before football took a break during coronavirus lockdown.
Schmeichel recently saw De Gea break his father Peter's record for the the overseas United player with the most appearances for the club, with his shutout at Crystal Palace also equalling the Dane's record for the most United clean sheets.
