A popular restaurant in the city centre has called out a customer’s one-star review over a bottle of water after saying it was ‘damaging’ for their business.
Northern Soul Grilled Cheese, on Tib Street in the Northern Quarter, has been a part of the city's food scene since 2014 and has gained a cult-like following for its grilled sandwiches and cheesesteaks.
Alongside its city centre venue, the restaurant also operates as a pop-up at various different markets and events throughout the year, including a stall outside the Etihad Stadium during Manchester City FC’s football season.
On Thursday (August 1), a customer who had been attending a match at the Eastlands stadium posted a one-star review on the restaurant’s Google listing regarding a bottle of water which they had been charged £3 for. READ MORE: Steve Coogan sends touching letter to recently reopened 'people's pub' in Greater Manchester The reviewer posted: “northern soul grilled cheese seems to think it's acceptable to charge £3 for bottles of still water outside the Etihad stadium.” Sharing a screenshot of the review, owners of Northern Soul took to Instagram to share their frustration of the message.
