Jussie Smollett Makes Rare Appearance in Public, One Day After Lawsuit Was Thrown Out

The 37-year-old former Empire actor was joined by a friend while making a quick run to Jamba Juice. Jussie has rarely been seen in public after his incident in January 2019, when he alleged that he was assaulted outside of his Chicago apartment.
Police later claimed that he had staged the attack, though he still maintains his innocence. Just this week, a judge tossed the lawsuit that Jussie filed against the city of Chicago for malicious prosecution.
The actor will only be able to refile the case if he’s found not guilty in his upcoming trial. Jussie is still facing charges of lying about the racially charged hate crime.
