Jurgen Klopp has not given up hope of persuading Georginio Wijnaldum to stay at Liverpool and claims he doesn’t have the words to explain the midfielder’s true impact at Anfield.
Wijnaldum joined The Reds from Newcastle in 2016 for £25million and has gone on to make 236 appearances for the club. The 30-year-old has been a driving force from midfield as the club returned to English football’s top table, winning the Premier League and Club World Cup in 2020 and the Champions League the year before.
However, Wijnaldum’s contract is set to expire this summer and he is expected to depart Anfield, with the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Internazionale all waiting in the wings.
