Johnny Majors was the legendary head football coach at Tennessee and Pittsburgh. He led the Pittsburgh Panthers to an undefeated season and the national championship in 1976.
Majors was an All-American running back at the University of Tennessee, finishing second in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1956 to Paul Hornung.
He became the head coach at Iowa State, leading them to their first bowl game win, then the University of Pittsburgh in 1973, leading them to their last national championship in 1976, an undefeated season behind legendary running back Tony Dorsett.
