John Christopher Depp II (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, singer, producer, and musician. He has been nominated for ten Golden Globe Awards, winning one for Best Actor for his performance of the title role in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2008), and has been nominated for three Academy Awards for Best Actor, among other accolades. He is regarded as one of the world's biggest film stars. Depp made his film debut in the 1984 film A Nightmare on Elm Street, before rising to prominence as a teen idol on the television series 21 Jump Street (1987–1990). He had a supporting role in Oliver Stone's 1986 war film Platoon and played the title character in the 1990 romantic fantasy Edward Scissorhands.

Johnny Depp against his former wife Amber Heard have given their verdict to a Virginia courthouse.Johnny Depp has won the multimillion dollar lawsuit against his ex-wife.Over the last six weeks, the Hollywood stars have been at loggerheads after Depp, 58, launched a civil defamation case against his ex-wife, suing her for $50million (£40million).He was handed $15million (£12million) in damages.It came after she wrote an opinion piece in 2018, detailing her experiences with domestic abuse.Jurors were sent out on Friday, May 27 to consider their verdict after witnesses including Kate Moss took to the stand.It was confirmed on Wednesday (June 1) that the jury reached a verdict on the third day of deliberations and it was delivered to the Fairfax Courthouse in Virginia.Depp was in the UK at the time of the verdict being read, performing on tour alongside British guitarist Jeff Beck - though a source said he planned to watch the verdict being read from across the pond.A source told Law & Crime in a statement: "Due to previously scheduled work commitments made before the trial, Mr Depp will not be physically present for today’s 3pm verdict and will be watching from the United Kingdom."As the jury were brought into the chambers, it emerged they hadn't filled out the damages section of the verdict form - which must be at least $1 (80p).Judge Azcarate instructed them to return to the the deliberation room to complete these forms.The article in question, initially published by the Washington Post does not name Mr Depp but legal representatives for Heard say it is protected by freedom of speech.Lawyers for Depp say it "falsely implies" that she was a victim of abuse during their marriage.In his closing statement, Amber's legal.
