It was truly love at first sight for Depp. The actor saw Ryder for the first time at the 1989 premiere of Great Balls of Fire! in New York and was instantly attracted to her. However, during the event they did not get to hang out together. Reportedly, months after the premiere, a mutual friend introduced them to each other and set them on a date.
