Johnny Depp has been forced to quit his role in the Fantastic Beasts film after losing his High Court libel case. The actor said he had agreed to step down from the Harry Potter franchise as he criticised the "surreal judgement" against him in a lengthy social media post.
The 57-year-old sued The Sun's publisher, News Group Newspapers (NGN), over a 2018 article which labelled him a "wife beater".
Warner Bros has now asked the actor to resign from his role as Grindelwald in JK Rowling's Fantastic Beasts film following his crushing defeat.
